The proposal
The show springs from the desire to travel with the voice across the shifting territory where opera meets cabaret, and cabaret turns into musical. It is a journey through the folds of twentieth-century musical theatre up to the present day, where different languages bend in many directions, only to arrive, often, at very similar outcomes. In this interweaving of styles the programme offers food for thought on the craft of living and existing on stage: song as mask and revelation, the voice as a space where laughter and emotion share the same root.
