Rapsòdija Trio | Di Visioni Musicali
The proposal
The concert project “Di Visioni Musicali” (“Of Musical Visions”) springs from the idea that music is a powerful vehicle for connection, union and dialogue between different cultures. The performance is a true sonic journey capable of breaking down geographical and stylistic boundaries, building a fascinating expressive mosaic in which every tile and colour helps to create a universal harmony.
On stage, the Rhapsodija Trio effortlessly blends the warm melodies and passion of the Italian tradition with the freedom and overwhelming energy of jazz improvisation and world music, while also incorporating the driving rhythms and deep harmonies of Eastern European music and the klezmer tradition. The repertoire strikes a constant balance between original compositions born of the band members’ sensibility and famous traditional pieces (such as Der Gasn Nigun, Romanian Train or Hicaz Mandira), all reinterpreted through highly personal, virtuosic acoustic arrangements.
The Ensemble
Founded in 1993, the Rhapsodija Trio boasts over three decades of international career, an extensive discography and prestigious collaborations in cinema (including soundtracks for directors such as Silvio Soldini, Lucio Pellegrini and Alessandro D’Alatri), theatre (with Moni Ovadia, Antonio Albanese and Lella Costa) and dance.
With the recent arrival of Adalberto Ferrari alongside the historic pillars Nadio Marenco and Luigi Maione, the ensemble has embarked on a new artistic turn. The line-up combines the group’s technical rigour and historical heritage with a renewed drive towards ethno-jazz exploration, experimentation and improvisation, giving us a show of great emotional impact, cultured yet popular, overwhelming and poetic.
