Nadio Marenco is an accordionist who graduated with honours from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire in Milan.
He has an intense concert career as a soloist, in chamber formations and with orchestras, both in Italy and abroad.
His versatile career has seen him perform on the stage of the 2017 Sanremo Festival alongside the international star Mika and record on Francesco Guccini’s albums Canzoni da ritorto (certified platinum) and Canzoni da Osteria.
He has collaborated and recorded with great names of entertainment and music such as Ornella Vanoni, Tosca, Adriana Asti, Cochi Ponzoni and Renato Pozzetto, Enzo Jannacci, Roberto Piumini, Federico Buffa, Milva, Alessandro Haber, Memo Remigi, Bruno Gambarotta, Gipo Farassino, Gianni Coscia, Giovanni Falzone and the Brazilian group Selton.
He joined the Rhapsodija Trio in 2008 and has performed with the ensemble in the international show Aqua in the Rift Valley in Kenya, on the Rai Radio 3 programme FahreNight, and in the shows Exilio and PPP with Moni Ovadia, as well as receiving the “Forenza Music Award” International Music Prize.
He has played accordion for the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa in the symphonic musical An American in Paris and was soloist with the Toscanini Orchestra of Parma for the Premio Sport e Civiltà, broadcast by Rai.
Winner of First Prize at the “Rotary Milano” competition for solo accordionists and of the Miriam Fumagalli Prize at the Fiati ai libri 2017 festival, he has recorded soundtracks for television, cinema and advertising.
He teaches accordion at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatoire in Bolzano and accordion and chamber music at the Liceo Musicale Paolina Secco Suardo in Bergamo.
Particularly significant is his intense artistic rapport with the multi-instrumentalist Adalberto Ferrari. Together they created the duo project Duello, a dynamic and virtuosic performance in which accordion, clarinets and saxophones challenge and converse with one another, reworking music of different cultural and stylistic origins.
The two musicians also share the experience of the Rhapsódija Trio (alongside the guitar and voice of Luigi Maione), a group dedicated to exploring world music and creating sonic bridges between different cultures, as well as taking part in various jazz and Latin jazz ensembles.
