Nicola Olivieri
An Italian actor, baritone and vocalist, Nicola Olivieri has a solid training and an eclectic career ranging from straight theatre to opera, musical comedy and teaching. After making his debut at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano under Giorgio Strehler in the production Faust – frammenti, he embarked on an intense artistic career working as a performer and narrator for major institutions and theatre productions.
Since 2001 he has collaborated regularly with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, for which he is performer and narrator in numerous shows for children and families within the “Crescendo in Musica” series. Besides his stage performances, he combines his performing career with teaching, running musical-theatre courses and training programmes for young people.
Since 2008 he has been one of the permanent members of the en travesti trio Le Sorelle Marinetti, created from an idea by Giorgio Bozzo. In the group he plays Turbina Marinetti, lending his baritone voice and his acting talent to the vocal harmonies and gags of the repertoire of syncopated songs of the 1930s. With the Sorelle Marinetti he takes part in tours of Italy’s leading theatres and in major media events, including the 2010 Sanremo Festival alongside Arisa and collaborations with artists such as Simone Cristicchi and Vinicio Capossela.
