From the EIAR orchestras to the stage: the magic of Christmas by the Sorelle Marinetti

A truly special Christmas! Note di Natale (“Christmas Notes”) is an original musical-theatre show that transports the audience to a bygone atmosphere with sketches, choreography and anecdotes about the customs and culture of the 1930s, and lulls them with the beautiful music of the EIAR light orchestras (the forerunner of the RAI).

The backdrop is the Italy of sparkling film comedies, elegant dance halls, the radio, radio football commentaries, the Fiat Topolino and the Balilla, the boxer Primo Carnera and the aviator Italo Balbo.

The Italy of our grandparents, who managed to find a reason to smile and be carefree in the “songs of the radio” at a time that was anything but easy.

Alongside an extensive theatre career, the Sorelle Marinetti can boast prestigious collaborations, such as with Arisa at Sanremo (2010), with Simone Cristicchi (2011) and with Vinicio Capossela on the album “Marinai profeti e balene” (2012).

The Sorelle Marinetti are: Marco Lugli as Scintilla Marinetti, Nicola Olivieri as Turbina Marinetti, and Andrea Allione as Mercuria Marinetti.

The jazz quartet of the Orchestra Maniscalchi is made up of Christian Schmitz (piano, arrangements and vocal coaching), Adalberto Ferrari (clarinet, C-melody sax), Marco Mistrangelo (double bass) and Martino Malacrida (drums).
